What are 'Bounces'?
Posted by Elite Answers Support on 22 November 2006 07:35 PM

Bounces are email messages that could not be delivered.

Similar to a 'return to sender' message on a traditional piece of mail, an email bounce is a message that is returned to our services.

Bounces happen for a variety of reasons, but most often it is because the address you sent an email to no longer exists.

A bounce does not include an auto-responder informing you that someone is 'out of the office' or 'on vacation'.

Bounces are tracked for every email campaign you send out. It is highly recommended that you 'clear' your bounces to prevent you from sending to invalid addresses over and over again.

You can find your bounce reports by selecting Reports from the left navigation menu, and clicking on Bounces.

The system tracks and receives all bounces for you in order to prevent your personal inbox from being flooded with bounce messages.
